"To gain a true perspective of my view you need a little history. My son left home to study abroad. To say, as a Mom, that I was terrified is an understatement. My child had never been to many places outside of our regular family vacations to the beach/mountains, he'd never been on a plane before, & certainly not by himself. He took off, completely alone & knowing no one, to Thailand. I had all kinds of images & ideas about what he was doing, what would happen to him, etc. none of which brought me any peace.
